Our group addresses ecological and climatic questions on annual to millennial time scales. We use Quaternary sedimentary sequences (e.g. pollen, macrofossils, charcoal, diatoms, chironomids) and modelling approaches to study the long-term interactions among climate, the biosphere, and society.

Unsere Gruppe befasst sich mit ökologischen und klimatischen Fragestellungen auf Zeitskalen, die Jahre bis Jahrtausende umfassen. Wir verwenden quartäre Sedimentsequenzen (z.B. Pollen, Makroreste, Holzkohle, Kieselalgen, Zuckmücken) sowie Modellieransätze, um die langfristigen Wechselwirkungen zwischen Klima, Biosphäre und Gesellschaft zu untersuchen.
