ILLUSTRATED KEY TO THE 44 POLLEN- AND SPORE TYPES FOUND IN QUARTERNARY SEDIMENTS IN SWITZERLAND
As the main purpose of this pollen key is to introduce students to pollen analysis, it has been devised as a quiz. First, you can choose whether the pictures of the 44 different pollen types appear in alphabetical order or randomly. One or several microscope pictures of a pollen or spore type will then appear on the screen and four options to choose from are shown below the picture (s). Choose the one you think belongs to the picture (s). If the pollen or spore has been identified correctly, a selection of criteria will be shown and then you can practise and learn the decisive morphological features. |
